Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
CCNY isn't a bad college if you think about it. Its just the staffs and the professors that make the experience seem off putting. The bad? Some professors are just here to eat your money and refuse to teach students properly the aspects of the course that they need. The Math department is absolutely horrible. They hired a RANDOM student who wasn't even a Math major to substitute for a Math professor [who had to leave due to pregnancy]. I complained to the head of the Math department and all he said was, Hello? This is pre-calc and calculus class we're talking about. The faculty is not that all forgiving either. Especially the science faculty who are full of stuck ups. Even if you have an appointment with one of them, there is always one lady who forces to sit your ass down for 2-3 hours in a wait line to see your counselor regardless of your appointment. Even worse, for those students who undecided about their major, the staff there treats students as if they were just high school students. This one lady started snapping at a student once he took out his PSP in the waiting room saying how we students don't know better and all that stuff. The good? Students here are quite friendly but most students are overly shy. Depending on the type of professor you get, classes can be quite fun although over the years, courses has gotten quite tough and challenging. I say that especially for the Engineering department in which a high number of my friends had to change majors because the classes are too difficult. Probably one of the best classes CCNY offers is the PSY 102 class with professor Melara. Its a huge lecture class so prepare to sit in a auditorium with 100+ students. But this professor is hilarious, funny and tries to make the class fun and entertaining.Overall, this is a mediocre college. Unless you're willing to sacrifice your spare time and work really hard, graduating in 4 years is impossible. As a 3rd year, my classes has gotten unbelievably tough with new professors coming from various schools such as Columbia.
