Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I came to UWA with high hopes. My main goal was to get enough graduate hours in the field of my undergraduate major so I could teach at the post-secondary level. Three and a half years later, however, my goals have come to a screeching halt. I was dismissed from the program due to making Fs twice in a course I felt was irrelevant—as I had it in my first master's program and it did not mean much to me as I am in a different profession than the course represented. I also feel that the same syllabus is used each semester the course is taken—with the exact same requirements, grading rubric, etc. Can't professors be more creative in doing what they want to do instead of what is forced upon them. Another thing that got me down is that the textbook seemed to have a liberal slant as it supported the activities of the NEA and tried to water down facts by using "BCE" instead of "BC". The only good experience I had at this college (where I did all my coursework online) was a professor in my undergraduate major who graded more on effort and less on correctness. Kudoes to him for providing a holistic approach to making learning this certain field a worthwhile experience.
