Hiwassee is such a wonderful place to go to college at. Here the faculty and staff truly care about you and push you to become, not only great in academics, but great in all aspects of life. Hiwassee provides a wonderful educational environment, with beautiful scenery to make it even more spectacular. Hiwassee is smaller than surrounding schools, but that is one of the things that contributes to what made it my first transfer choice. Being a transfer student myself, I know what it is like to attend a college with a larger student body, and I hated it. I love that Hiwassee is not too small, but not too big either. Hiwassee is somewhere right in the middle, so, as a student, you do not become just a number, but rather receive the attention and help you need to succeed (after all, that is what you are paying for). Hiwassee has regained back their accreditation and has had it for the last year & a half, and has even expanded to a four year college. The proof: 1. We have Federal Student Aid (you have to be accredited to receive this). 2. Other colleges accept transfer credits from Hiwassee (they would not do this if we did not have our accreditation).
