I really don't know why theres all these negate comments. Yes the area is not safe but you hear about crime pretty much everywhere. UMD and Towson have both had their fair share of crime involving students. If you are safe and do not live in a house in an unsafe area, you'll be fine. University Park/Village and Seagull Square are great alternatives to dorms.

My friends have been going to this school since freshman year and they still love it. I am NOT into smoking weed and I'm not a huge drinker, even though I do go out and I still love it.

I also think everyone is so friendly here. I was actually really surprised at how friendly they were. Obviously not everyone is but it's mainly friendly students. And I LOVE the professors. I got very sick for a few weeks and they all worked with me so I didn't fall behind. These professors care. So if you think this school is just a cheap place to drink and smoke pot 24/7 and not get a real education, you're wrong. Its what you make of it.
