Major: Physics (This Major's Salary over time)
The first semester you are a prisoner, taking pointless classes which have been assigned to you without your own choosing (the times of my schedule are especially crappy for me). Professors are great, but other staff members in admissions and such always seem bored. Work is brutal compared to other Universities, and tests are far harder than material covered in class. TA's which are awful teachers are in control of freshman lab sessions and the pointless "discussion classes". You are forced into a fairly awkward mentoring program. Some very nice student and some very snobbish students. Dorms at the local state school look nicer than these. Mine came with no closet door, a badly stained carpet, and two desks of different heights (so my room mate and I could not put them back to back very nicely.)
