I mean, there are like 25 bars within walking distance to campus, and they're always packed. Where have you been going to school? Going out on sixth street in Austin is about the most annoying thing ever—sweaty jerks cramming together to buy expensive drinks. |
No night life at Texas State? Did you write this after snorting a xanax? |
Major: Physical Therapy/Exercise Science (This Major's Salary over time)
Texas State is an excellent school, but it depends on what you're studying. We have an amazing criminal justice program, a renowned physical therapy school and education department, and a good communication department. Other than that, I would say that you might want to look at other schools that are known for the program you are interested in.WARNING: There is no nightlife and/or weekend-life. There is the square, which is mostly unoccupied due to high rent, but even that only has a few small bars. I would suggest getting to know people that live in Austin or San Antonio because weekends in San Marcos on and around campus is akin to an abandoned ghost town. There is the river, but you can only float so far, stay out in the sun so long, and be around smelly hippies for so long before it gets old; and it will very quickly. In summary, if you are looking to pursue a career that falls under one of the aforementioned degrees, are a huge nerd without a social life, or don't mind paying outrageous gas prices to travel to nearby Austin or San Antonio Texas State is your school. If not, than this probably isn't the place for you.
