Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm extremely grateful to be a Northeastern student. Everyone here works hard and as a result, the school has been jumping up in the US rankings by leaps and bounds each year. As a future degree recipient (pending anything disastrous) this rise is awesome and will be extremely valuable 20 years down the line when the school will be ranked even higher. Secondly, as a sophomore about to go on coop, I need to mention what a great program this is. Although we have the assistance of a coop advisor when needed, I feel like the success of my job hunt is in my control and it'll be what I make of it. If you commit yourself to networking and finding the job that really fits you, the satisfaction is immeasurable. For those of you who toke it up, you've gotta quit for about a month. It sucks but it's a great self discipline exercise. Finally, there are only two negative aspects of the school. One is the recent crackdown on partying. Because administration is so focused on improving the school reputation, school police and student affairs has been rather harsh on partygoers. As a greek myself, I warn you that the people in charge of greek life are actually against it in many ways. I know from first hand experience that as an individual or organization, you are assumed guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around. This is disappointing. Also, Northeastern has a lackluster sports program. I'm a big sports fan and the only team sport worth watching is hockey. Despite our recent improvement, we still manage to lose every big game against BC. Not being able to tailgate a football game sucks too. Overall, Northeastern is an amazing school. Ultimately you go to school to get a degree and a job. Northeastern excels on both fronts (we are ranked #1 in job placement) and retention rate was 95% over the past year which is on par with the elite schools in the US. It may sound cheesy, but I often find myself thinking about how privileged I am to go to this school. That said, if you have the opportunity to come here, make a visit and decide for yourself. Hope this helps.
