If you like the small town feel, seeing the same people all day everyday, and are a religion major or have no life, go here. If at all you are any different, DO NOT GO HERE. Here is how CU plays…

1- Rakes you in because it's easy to get into, usually gives high scholarships, freshman can drive, etc.

2- Then they trap you here. It is nearly impossible to transfer after one semester and still hard to do after a full year.

The faculty are mean and do not care about you, the campus is small and buildings that are used for alumni gatherings or any other type of presentation on a regular basis are nice, but all the other buildings are ugly, old, and outdated. The campus is a good 45 minutes away from anything worth going to, i.e.: movies, restaurants (besides fast food,) shopping, etc. If you don't have a car be prepared to spend your life savings on food from "The Groc" because everything is at least $5. If a faculty member does try to help you, they speak to you as if you're five years old - seriously, every single faculty member has done that so far. My advisor has twelve students to take care of. Twelve. When I asked about how to send my transcripts to another school, he replied "well, if you're a freshman…" IF I'm a freshman, IF. The staff here sincerely does not care about you in the least.

The first semester your schedule is made for you, which at the beginning I thought was cool, but now I see it as a problem because they give you classes that aren't transferable so you're forced to stay here longer. CUFS is a waste of time and a joke, and you're not allowed to drop it. Students "chosen" to be in it don't even have to accept it, and they're automatically put in there.

Half the classes here won't transfer anywhere else, but you can't do bad in them or your GPA will suffer, making it even HARDER to transfer out of here.

There's no greek life, no fun things on campus, no big buildings and lights, nothing. There's nothing.

And the rules! SO MANY RULES! Girls can only come into the guys rooms on odd days, and then only from 6PM-11PM, otherwise both students get written up, like we're in fuckin' high school. Same rule for the girls dorms but only on even days. I don't even understand this rule, whatever they're trying to keep from happening isn't going to work. If a boy and a girl want to do something, they can find other ways… Also, within the first two days, my nerf gun was confiscated by my RD (which, I'd never heard of an RD before I came to CU, they're a waste of our tuition money.) A nurf gun. A plastic toy that shot styrofoam bullets was deemed against the rules here at CU because

it's not ok to shoot things.
Other ridiculous outcomes to our rules here are: Our lobby was closed down because someone moved the couch, being written up (paying a fee and doing community service) because you were in the opposite sexes room at 11:03, moving you car to a closer lot for 5 minutes to quickly grab your bag to go home resulting in a parking ticket, and the list goes on, and on, and on.

Another thing, the school is so boring that EVERYONE goes home on the weekends. I seriously think some people live out of a suitcase. This place is already a ghost town on the week days but its seriously empty on weekends. Which is why they're moving college football saturdays to Thursday nights like JV high school games.

This school sucks. It's horrible. Words cannot even describe how angered I am at making the decision to come here. I'm being forced to go to a community college next semester just so that I can take the classes I need to transfer and not waste another $17k on this god-for-saken school. If you want a "college experience" DO NOT GO HERE.
