All other things equal, go elsewhere.  Often, Clarkson offers compelling financial aid— if you don't mind being crushed under the workload and the bureaucracy, it often provides value (education and reputation per dollar).

Professors and the Student Success Center are generally approachable.  Res Life, SAS, and OIT (tech support) are generally not.  For some reason, President Tony Collins is very approachable, but your mileage may vary with respect to problem resolution.
