School is terrible I honestly dont know where to start. I decided to come to morgan over frostburg for the simple fact that I got scholarships but I whole hardheartedly regret it. Starting with appearance it's a ghetto, dirty, concrete jungle think I'm lying come to open house on November 4, 2011. Absolutely not a inviting campus. Hardly anywhere to sit and talk besides the student center and library which is supposed to be used for studying? Next coursework is fair a little harder than I thought but managing. Second is the staff. Half of them are 90 years old and speak 10 words of English yet they have multiple degrees? If I am going to pay 10grand the least you could do is get a better staff. Third campus security is bull and campus workers the same. MSU police honeslty do not do anything. This is not an opinion this is a fact amongst the sudents. Dont think so go ask anyone underage if they are scared to get locked up by a MSU cop. They get laughed at by certain social groups. They honeslty will walk past you if your drinking or smoking and not ciggarettes. Ive actually seen someone blow smoke from weed in the air openly and the MSU police simply rode his mountain bike past like nothing happened. Next the maintenance people are absolute perverts. They stare and grab underage girls 19 and sometimes younger arms, butt. They are just liek the students except in uniforms. They can barely keep the trash on the ground with my family comes to visit they have to look at that crap. They also slack off all the time. In my dorm all they do is talk we have to beg them to fix everything inclduing the WI-Fi which sucks which was also just installed 2 months after school started. Next the money. For 10grand average instate I find as insulting and ridiculous. First off just keeping up with your papers is a hard enough task. They lose valuable information all of the time which is essential to admission and current registartion. Spinning off of that they want all there money on time yet they cant set up a manageable registration system for students. They dure registartion 3 months in advance and for us of those who are trying to get in out MAJOR classes we have to stay up till 12 midnight to a jammed system only to not only see out class if full but every class is full. Absolute joke. Yet they want all there money on time and are really daring you not to by dropping schedules "misplacing" credit card and other files. Absolutely sickening. Then we come home to rat, flee and roach infested dormitories only to get 3 hours of sleep because persons are blasting music at 12, 1,2,3,4 in the morning. If that wont wake you up the 18 hour construction will. I wake up to a crane every morning. I should not even use an alarm clock anymore. Next lets dress food. Morgan food sucks everyone knows it. First the canteen. First the canteen.They have the same 4 things every single day. For 3000+ kids one would think they could switch it up just a little. Second The Refac. The food sucks why because after waiting in line for 10mn for slump your food is cold. I thought this was college why are there no microwaves in the cafeteria. I'm paying 5000 for a meal plan nd u cant install a 80$ microwave. Absolutely sickening. Next the subway. This is college we are 19,20, 21 year old's we get tired of subs every freaking day gosh. Second subway adds up after a while. I mean honestly who has 7 dollars lunch and dinner every day to chip out for subway. No One especially college kids. You ask why do you eat at subway. Because if I ate chicken wings,Final remarks just think about this we had a HIV/AIDS bus come to our school at the beginning of the year. Over 50% percent of our students are affected with either HIV STD'S or AIDS. This is not speculation. Organization have done studies and you can Google Morgan Aids rate online at your convenience. Besides the fact that I cant sleep my teachers are rude. Simply put i will not be returning next year. God willing i can keep a high GPA and attend Morehouse College next Year. I mean I love Baltimore I love Morgan but enough is enough. People are always defending it but sometime tough love is the best love. I am not trying to scare prospective students I am simply warning you what you WILL encounter at Morgan State University. One last thing parents when you try to pick your children up you are no longer allowed to drive straight up to the dorm. Your child must haul all of his belonging to wherever your car is. Just think about this last thing my 62 year old grandmother who already has trouble breathing had to drop me off basically in the middle of the street and i had to walk to my dorm. Imaging what that will be like in the dead of winter or the hottest day of the summer. This school is trash, staff is rude, and will rip you off and you let your child attend this University. They do not have a soccer,lacrosse, bowling, swimming, or even baseball team. That's pitiful I don't care what anybody says. This is my personal reflection that i am sharing with you all after my 3 semester at this university. Feel free to contact any other transfer student and they will tell you the same. Oh yeah Fireman stay on guard because as pranks fire alarms are pulled :) have a great day BEARS pray that you make it back to your room :)
