I transferred to KSU last year after I got my associate's degree from a smaller college. I'm going to begin by saying, I wish I had NEVER came to this school. It was a big decision for me to come here because it involved me moving 5.5 hours away from home, but I thought I might like living near a bigger city than what I was used to. I should have gone to UCF in Orlando like I had originally planned. I graduate in May and I am counting down the days until I leave this place. First of all, I came here knowing nobody…and I will be leaving knowing…nobody. The people here already have "set" groups of friends and aren't open to meeting anybody new. I love to go out dancing, shopping, and having fun, but all I do here when I'm not in class or working on something is study, do homework and sit in my room. I was raised in the panhandle of Florida and grew up in South Georgia, and the students are constantly making comments about my "southern accent" and think it's amusing when I tell them I moved here from South Georgia. As far as I know, KSU is located in the state of Georgia…the southern US. Southern accents should be no shocker, especially one as minimal as mine. Trust me, I'd rather be back there ANY DAY. I came in here with a positive attitude, but in my last remaining months here my attitude is just to finish up and get out of here as fast as I can.As far as the faculty go, I've had some really good professors and some really bad ones. Overall though, I would say some of the professors here have been the only real "highlight" of KSU. The course work in most of my classes is not that difficult. I haven't made anything below a B here.If you are from the metro Atlanta area, you will probably enjoy KSU if you already know people from around the area. But, if you are not from this area, then unless you join a frat or sorority or something, it will most likely be very difficult to meet anybody new.…oh and the people in the financial aid office can not even do basic math. It's pathetic. Math has always been my worst subject in school and even if I can do these basic calculations to determine how much money I owe, then these individuals who are getting paid to work in the office should have no problem doing so.
