HPU promised me the WORLD. I was a nursing student trying to get into a program in California and it is very impacted. So I chose to apply and come here and boy did I pay for that one! I was told I could take the levels (nursing does these 5 levels) in the summer. WRONG! Nursing level 2 is not offered in summer so I basically hung out for the summer, working and wasting time. The administration of the school is horrible, the actual college of nursing is a joke unto itself. The building the Windward campus is housed at leaks like crazy every time it rains, you can't get tutors over there, the internet kicks you out all the time, they don't have enough bandwith to support the students on the internet. Registration they do here is laughable and a waste of time all around. The system cannot handle the number of people trying to register for classes. Example: registration was 11/4/11 at 12:01 am FOR ALL SENIORS in the nursing department. So imagine all these students trying to get into one class all at once. They don't stagger it like regular colleges do. Another example: going to the advisors at Windward campus; please be prepared to be treated rudely and with no respect. You will be GRILLED as to why you are there, for what purpose, where is the DNA sample that proves who you are???? I mean it is a joke. Oh, and you will pay $260 dollars a semester to park there if you drive a car on top of $24K tuition a year. They raise it every year in the spring as an FYI just cuz they can. Teachers are NOT helpful and will basically tell you to screw off if you want help with papers or just general questions. Hey, thanks! That is great! My advice- please stay where you are or do more thorough research then what I did. I was just so excited to get into nursing school I dropped everything to come here and got STUCK!!! So please, ask so many questions people will tell you to shut up and do research about the program and the costs that really come with it.

Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges & Universities?

I tried to speak to the people in charge and basically it is not worth it! I need to get out and get my degree so I can work off the massive debt I have accumalted from going to school there. So I am going to wait till after I have my degree in my hot little hands and I am going to rip them! But first I gotta think about me. But I will preach to anyone who is even thinking about coming to HPU to step back and go somewhere else. It is not worth going to school there!!! NEVER!!

You have to submit a complain to the Association of Schools and colleges Accreditng commission - it is their job to make sure that the universities they accredited are credible or else their accredition is just paper work. The accredited HPU.
