I write this review from the comfy green chair in Post, Wittenberg's answer to Springfield's lack of a Starbucks. (Springfield lacks just about everything, but I'll address that in a bit). These are my thoughts about completing a semester here… probably my last.

The best part about Wittenberg are the professors, hands down. If you're a high school senior, think about some of your favourite teachers and the classes they teach. A compassionate, enthusiastic, and personal professor can become your best tool for getting a start in the career world, and they may become your best friend if you let them. I know that I'll continue to interract with my profs after I've gone.

Despite the fantastic faculty, I am transferring. If you, like myself, are looking for a school that doesn't overwhelmingly indulge in alcohol every "Witt Wednesday" and Friday and Saturday (and sometimes Thursday) look elsewhere. If you're hoping to find academic challenge, keep searching. Most importantly, I was really hoping to find a campus filled with friendly, passionate adults who know themselves, the world, and how they plan to be significant. The student body is remarkably friendly and I have found a few very special individuals, but they have no concept of the real world and are still trying to grow up.

However, there are a lot of people for whom Witt is a great fit. They're good students, work hard/play hard types of people, and they are fun and casual. If you're hoping to escape academic elitism or coldness that you're finding on other campuses, you'll probably quite enjoy yourself here.

A few things I wish I would have known:

Witt drinks. A lot. They keep this very quiet in admissions.

Springfield sucks. Even more than a lot. My first week here, we walked out to ice cream and were followed by a gang all the way back to campus. Yellow Springs and Beavercreek, the neighbouring towns, are wonderful but not accessible unless you have a car. In fact, nothing is accessible without a car from campus except the cemetery. The cemetery is A+, though, I spend most of my evenings walking the paths.

The dorms aren't spectacular (unless you shell out the extra money for New Hall), and neither is the food (unless you shell out extra money for Post!).
