Major: Music Education (This Major's Salary over time)
I highly suggest not going to SUNY Potsdam, especially if you want to go here for music education. It's funny because most people boast about how great of a music school Potsdam is. Well, these students aren't telling you about how STUCK UP the students AND the faculty are! Students constantly boast about how great they are because they went to all-state in High School. If you're a transfer student, don't expect to make new friends at Crane. If you don't go to Potsdam as a freshman, it's very very difficult to fit in and make friends. I had an awful experience and I only went here for 1 semester and I'm already transferring out. One of my professor's sexually harassed me, and when I told the dean about this, he basically told me there is nothing that can be done about this situation. Another big thing that got me angry is the fact that I took a ton of music courses at my previous college, but yet they still made me retake the SAME, EXACT COURSE EVEN THOUGH I PASSED IT. Clearly, my education does not matter to this college but my money does. The food is really gross and most of the students on this campus are morbidly obese which is ironic I think. As someone else stated, there are OTHER schools out there where you will not be treated like a number and the students and faculty will be much more respectful. If you're really into music, look into Fredonia.. or anywhere BUT this school. Trust me, you will regret it if you don't.
