Notre Dame has one of the best brand names in the country. As a graduate, you will earn a lot of respect just by name dropping. Academically speaking, most of your professors will care about you as a person. In here you are definitely not a number. Professors really listen to you and care about your growth as a person.Socially speaking, if you are white, Catholic, upper class, and preferably from the Midwest, you will most probably do just fine here. Actually, if you are all of these things, this is probably the best place to go to college. If, however, you are a minority from a lower income background and from a different part of the country or the world, you will most likely feel very isolated here. The school tries to promote diversity but do not believe the hype. The less you are one of the things before mentioned, the less connected you will feel to the greater circle of the student body—exceptions given to student athletes.
