This institution is run by a religious organization which is prone to religious legalism and hidebound social traditions. If you are not already a 7th Day Adventist you are better off somewhere else.

You might get through if you shut up, keep your head down, and don't question anything, no matter how unprofessional or unethical it may seem. This is confusing, since they are so eager to talk about professional and personal ethics. They even have an ethics department; however, this public image doesn't filter down to the level of staff and faculty.
Because they are Adventist, they give preference in hiring to fellow Adventists resulting in internal nepotism and inconsistent quality of service. In other words, some staff and faculty are hired for their religious affiliation, not for their professional competence. Some of the faculty and staff are, in fact, well-qualified. Unfortunately, these people are overshadowed by others with serious personal problems and professional deficits.
There are plenty of academic institutions with better facilities and opportunities. Honestly, your time and money are better spent somewhere else.
