If I had known I would NEVER have gone to URI in the first place. Campus tours always seem so much better than they really are but I should've expected that.

The campus is in the middle of nowhere so if you want to get a cab, forget about it. There is a bus but it is public transportation for all of Rhode Island. Hopefully you have friends with a car and a designated driver because any party worth going to will be off campus.

My dorm was absolutely disgusting. I know dorms aren't the cleanest places in the world but this was unbelievable. In college my father lived in a fraternity and even he said my dorm was gross. For some reason cleaning staff never came on the weekend to clean the bathroom and that is when they're needed most. Girls would vomit all over the toilet seats and it wouldn't be cleaned up for days. Unfortunately I'm not exaggerating. There is some partying that goes on in dorms but most people party Thursday-Saturday night. A lot of kids go home on the weekends.

Of course the main purpose of college is to get an education but the classes weren't anything to brag about. All my classes were very big. I saw a statistics saying most classes at URI have 20-30 students, yeah I'd like to see which classes those are. One of my classes had over 500 kids, and another 100. They were all introductory courses. My psychology class had about 60 but the teacher was crazy and why she is able to teach I'll never know.

I am an out of state student and it wasn't a good experience for me. When I had a real situation the URI Police barely helped me. Even if I got a scholarship with everything paid I'd still go somewhere else.
