As a freshman starting second semester, I'm having more and more doubts regarding if this school was the right choice for me.

The academics here are awesome. I've loved (overall) all my classes and teachers so far, and I've felt like I've learned a lot, and will continue to learn a lot. The library is a wonderful resource too. This is definitely a place where you can get an education. However, sometimes I don't feel challenged enough. I'm not sure if that's just because my high school better prepared me than I had thought, or the classes really aren't all that difficult.

I'm SO disappointed with the social scene though. It is literally the same shitty party every weekend. The townhouses are not fun, and parties get broken up so quickly by public safety. The beach is okay, if you like bad kegs and douchebag athletes.

The students here, while friendly, overall are very superficial. Most female conversations revolve around diets and different types of vodka. Guys just want to get laid.

I'm sure there are exceptions to this, but I have yet to see them.

The town of Fairfield is so drab. It's cute, but boring, and not at all accommodating to college students. Campus is isolating, and not at all the real world.

Overall I find myself so bored here, and so disconnected. I'm seriously considering transferring to a place with a lot more diversity. And perhaps somewhere more in-touch with reality, where people know there are more important things than Natty light and the Real Housewives.
