NMT has been an amazing experience! Many departments push the limits (in a good way) and truly want you to learn how to learn what you need to know to succeed in life. All my Professors were approachable and in my department they all knew my name and they would do their best to help you learn (tutoring, extra time in labs, open labs, open door policies, ect). Grading was excellent (hard but fair). Labs were very applicable and they are where I learned the most. Junior and senior design projects were challenging and fun (at the start I was like…you want us to do what??? and in the end I was like "I did that").

I took some other community classes (scuba diving, armor making and stained glass).

Something that I found absolutely amazing is at the job fairs. Most companies/labs were requiring a GPA of 3.5, 3.75 or higher. I would talk to some of the representatives and they would say "turn in a resume." I would say well my GPA is only 3.2 and the reply was in essence "That's ok, we will accept a 2.0 gpa from this school." I heard that from more than one employer!!! and I think that speaks a lot about the quality of employee NMT produces.

Again, I couldn't be happier with my experience at NMT!

There wasn't a ton of "night life" or things to do in the town, but that was perfect for me…I needed to study! A lot. The student government put on many fun events throughout the semesters (quality comedians, movies, …) and there were intramiral sports. I didn't join any of the clubs. The food on campus was fine and the town has like 20 fast food places. I lived in the dorms and they were fine by me.
