The University of Maryland is the best thing that has ever happened from me. It was my first choice from the moment I stepped onto the beautiful campus. Being from the Midwest, I was nervous to come so far from home. But, I am so glad I made that step.

First, campus is beautiful. There are very few high rise dorm buildings and everything has charm. The main quad is beautiful (the longest one in the nation!) It seems like a really large campus, but it only takes about 15 minutes to walk across it.

Also, there are tons of resources on campus. Six libraries which is INSANE. Also, TAs and professors are there with office hours willing to help. I know many people say you will be a number at the school, but it really is the effort that you put in. This is true at all schools. If you make the effort to go see your professors, they are going to know who you are. There are some large classes at first but even as a freshman I had a 20 person seminar. If you take the time to know the professor, they will know you.

Though College Park can be a bit scary sometimes, the university has many precautions in place. Also, the proximity to DC couldn't be more amazing. It takes a 20 minute metro ride to get into the heart of the city.

The athletics and school spirit are key here and so much a part of the Maryland community.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews out here because I wouldn't trade this school for anything.

GO TERPS!
