Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I chose to come to UT because I did not really fall in love with any other school and my older sister was going here at the time. To be honest, my first semester was a hard. After talking to friends who'd gone to larger schools, I felt that I wasn't getting the typical college experience (since the greek life isn't that huge and there is no football). My opinion though changed around completely after my first semester. One of my professors, who still remembers my name to this day, was willing to boost my grade up a little in order for me to get an A. My other friends had professors that did not even know their names, and mine was willing to do that kind of thing. I knew I had to stay.I realized quickly that maybe it wasn't the typical college experience, but it was going to a college experience no less - one taht I don't regret in the slightest. My professors are amazing. They know my name, they take the time to get to me as a person, and they are always willing to help no matter what. This is important to me considering I'm a pre-med major and always want to get great grades. The campus life is like a hotel compared to most schools. We have cleaning ladies that clean the bathroom (amazing). The dorms, especially as you get older, are inconceivable to most of my friends because of their size and state. The food isn't great, but no school's is.The night-life is absolutely awesome for me. The South Howard and Channelside strips are filled with great bars and a few clubs. There is somewhere to go every night of the week if you want.All-in-all, this is not the typical college experience you see on TV, but I think it's better. You get close with the people you meet, your professors will remember your name three years after the class you've had with them, and the education, if you care about it, is great.Did I mention I just went to the beach and it's the end of January? Can't beat that.
