I am a first year student at UNT. I am from out of state so I am forced to live in dorms my first year. One thing I wished I asked before moving here was whether there were people here on the weekends. Had I asked, the answer would have been no. THE CAMPUS IS EMPTY ON THE WEEKENDS. Everyone goes home. It makes the campus suck. I pay an extreme amount to live in dorms and eat bad food and there aren't even people to hang out with on the weekends. It gets really annoying.

responseI feel you!
I'm a junior here and my freshman year, at least the first part of it, felt like every weekend was a ghost town. I didn't have a car either so it was hard to find things to do. But! There are a lot of things that go on! Being that it is a music school, there frequently bands that play at local venues(if you're at least 18 you should be able to see them). Also, yeah it sucks that people go home over the weekends all the time, but there are a lot of people in town to chill with! Unfortunately it usually consist of beer pong, hooking up, and whatever else…but I guess that's college. When I first applied here I didn't realize how big of a party school it was until I witnessed it myself…UNT is pretty rowdy. Lol. BTW welcome and I hope you enjoy your experience here!
