I'm in my second semester at Baylor and there are both pros and cons to this school

Pro wise the academics are great and the professors are all really helpful, there was only one professor I didn't like last semester. Baylor has a variety of majors so if you decide to switch your major you won't have limited options. The course work is rigorous but not over bearing (just don't be lazy and a procrastinator like me!) The campus itself is really beautiful and the buildings/architecture are definitely a work of art. The campus is not too big or small so at most it might take you 15 or 20 minutes to walk across it. Housing wise I live in Brooks Flats which has suite styled dorms and you can even get your own room which is definitely a plus, although living in the suite styled dorms obviously costs more but they beat community living style dorms any day. I actually like the dining on campus during the week days Baylor has 4 dining halls to choose from and the SUB which has Chick Fil A and other retail kiosks so you definitely have options. The dorm food itself isn't too bad, granted some foods are better than others but I've generally been pleased with it. The sports are pretty good here I don't keep up with them but if sports are your thing you won't be disappointed here.

Now for the cons. Baylor stereotypes do hold some truth. Most of the students seem to white, rich, and conservative so Baylor is lacking in diversity. There are pockets of minority students but if you're liberal, not straight or not Christian you will have a harder time finding friends. Fortunately there are some groups like Baylor Democrats and and an unofficial Sexual Identity group that do have the more liberal types but mostly the students here fit the stereotype. Religion could be seen as a pro or con. If you're Christian you won't have a problem with the religion here but if you're Jewish/Muslim/Hindu/Atheist/etc you'll be outnumbered and maybe overwhelmed by the Christian themes. You have to take two Religion classes here which are more scholarly/historical than evangelical. Everyone is also required to take Chapel which isn't hard, just show up and you get credit but Chapel itself is pretty ridiculous and a waste of time. Some of the speakers are good but others seem to have that

Christianity is the only right religion
vibe. Fortunately you can just sleep through it. Waco is also another con, it's just a boring and dangerous city that can't compare to other surrounding cities like Dallas and Austin, but they are only about an hours drive away.

So all in all Baylor has it's pros and cons, looking back I might have chosen to go to a different university mostly because I'm the non religious liberal type.
