If you're the type of person who could care less about student/campus-related activities and just want to focus on acquiring a higher education than I would recommend UMass Boston to you. The school prides itself on being the city's only public four year university. It's a very down-to-earth, working-class kind of school. With that said, many of the students are hard-working individuals who are determined to get their respective degrees. UMB has far fewer snobby, trust-fund rich kids that generally make up Boston's college student population. The courses are nevertheless challenging and one should not expect an easy ride here.
