As an Alumni of MC I can say that starting off I believed MC to be a joke and not up to my standards. A gentleman approached me one day and called MC a "hidden treasure." Those words really hold truth in my heart. Yes, it is majority African American and yes it is an easy institution to get into, but it provides an education for those who haven't been given a fair shot. I graduated from Miles College with a near 4.0 and continued to graduate school and graduated with a 3.875. Now at age 24 I am planning to start my doctorate courses in the fall. If you want to party and waste your money and then complain about the school go ahead, but if you want to really focus in on your studies and get a quailty education then MC will grant it to you. And honestly, MC prepared me MORE than my graduate program ever could have. I don't know the school song nor can I describe to you how the cafe' looks (and yes I lived on campus), but I have taken a lot from that little small school in the "ghetto." I would never trade the experience. My advice is take your education for what it is AN EDUCATION. Instead of reading the reviews of this school take a visit and survey the students there first hand. Your education is what you make of it and MC gave me one heck of a ride. I enjoy my career now in sunny South Florida and I am not ashamed to wear my purple and gold where ever I go.
