I wouldn't say I love Mac, but I've had a really good experience so far. To me, the upsides and downsides are both very clear. You get a great education with smart classmates and accessible professors, and when you graduate you have a degree that will immediately help you get a good job/into grad school. The people are, despite many weird, overall really cool. I am in no way an "out-there" kind of person and was worried the school would be too worried, but besides a bunch of hipsters, the people are really great. The Twin Cities are awesome, though you probably won't go into them too much until you're an upperclassmen. The downsides are pretty obvious. As with the majority of liberal-arts schools, the party scene revolves around house parties that can be lacking at times. If you come here, be able to enjoy just drinking in a room with friends because it will occasionally be your only option. The weather sucks, but the weather sucks in most places, and in all honesty it hasn't really made an impact on my experience overall. It's cold sometimes, put on a jacket and get over it, really not a big deal and definitely shouldn't be a deciding factor. And as I mentioned previously, hipsters…we have too many of them (see: College, Liberal-Arts).Overall, Mac is a really good school and I definitely think I made the right choice. I might have more fun at a school like Michigan or UC Santa Barbara, but the atmosphere here is great and the education makes it worth it, which is what really matters
