This school is great if you want a relaxed, laid back or even fun, adventurous, college experience. You have the option to go hiking through the beautiful woods of Maine, or you can go into the awesome city of Portland. The beaches is only a 30 minute car drive and Portland is only twenty minutes away from the Gorham campus. There are plenty of activities, indoor and outdoor one could do. The music and Theatre department here are truly impressive for the amount of space that they have, they are able to squeeze everything needed for an excellent education/department. People here are so friendly it just doesn't seem real, I'm not saying it's fake, but I wouldn't doubt it. It's a pretty diverse school, although I'd say about 48% of students are instate Mainers. Not a bad thing though. I had trouble finding the right crowd of people up here. I am a very macro person with big dreams, big heart and filled with determination. I just had trouble finding kids that were as ambitious and driven as I was. It is also pretty fucking wondrous in the Winter up here. If you think you know what snow is, wait until you come to Maine, this is where it's at for the Winter Season.
