Major: Physical Therapy/Exercise Science (This Major's Salary over time)
If you're used to being busy with something to do all the time, this place is not for you. It very boring unless you're super involved in clubs and organizations. If you don't plan on being in a frat or sorority, good luck. There pretty big here and by the spring almost everyone is in one. People tend to make their own fun, which usually involved heavy drinking and serious drugs. The intramurals suck as people sign up and don't come. The food is terrible and the only decent place to eat closes at 3. The gym is too small and doesn't have enough equipment. To only nice places to go off campus are 10-30 minutes away and the shuttle only runs friday-sunday. The campus isn't terrible looking but it floods whenever it rains and is pretty dirty since the people here don't know what a trash can is. Hartford itself is a pretty boring city unless you go to bars. In terms of the social live, its pretty dull. I don't feel like I had the true college experience here which I really wanted. Needless to say, I'm transferring in the fall like the many other students who are too. The only positive is the professors and class size. The ones I've had were really helpful and truly cared. The classes were nice and small and you got to know the people in your major since you have most of the same classes with them. Registration was easy and my adviser helped me through the whole thing. However, this school really isn't worth the 40 something thousand dollars. I was fortunate enough to get a nice scholarship but don't go here if you're paying the full amount when you could go to a much better state school. Also, if you're not in the Hartt school, there's really no reason for you to some here. I'm not trying to rip on this school but this is just what I've experienced and others I've talked to feel the same way and are also transferring. Whenever the tours go by I just want to scream "DON'T GO HERE". Then I might save someone some money. Hope this helps.
