Staff is very unhelpful. It seems like the school spends all its money on building a front, a facade that makes the university appear that it stands up to the Ivy Leagues and spends very little money on making the actual school experience better. There are constant campaigns to bring more students even though there is no more space for larger freshman classes, teachers constantly complain about having too few classrooms as well as offices. Additionally, the teachers lack innovation. They teach like people have been teaching for centuries: inefficiently. Too frequently it was pointless to go to lectures because I could just read the book and get THE SAME EXACT INFO without wasting my time in class. The financial aid office is garbage. I'm not sure anyone at the office knows how to do anything and those who really need aid, like myself, are shafted and passed down the line to someone else to the point where they miss deadlines. They appear to not be there to help but to fill a space. No one in this school is trying to help you. When it comes to students, there is no discussion or group work. It's all individualistic. It all seems to be a competition or a race to the top instead of a scholarly environment where ideas are drawn from each other. Because of this the students act closed minded and there is even less importance to attending class. Discussions are lame, debates flounder, and nobody takes the material seriously.
