SUNY Oswego was a horrible experience, simply miserable. I had the worst time of my life there. Only two types of student attend: drug-addled loners and snooty bros and girls who are only concerned with partying. The only in-betweens were in the Honors department. Most students came to the school with friends, and the only way to meet people is through getting inebriated. No one seems to care about their education, whatsoever. The schoolwork was ridiculously easy and I failed to learn anything in any class, save for one history class. My time at Oswego left me unprepared for the future. The staff other than the professors were horribly unhelpful. I had several problems with my room. The window leaked terribly, causing a horrible fire hazard, as the water dripped down to the electrical outlet. I went to maintenance to ask for it to be fixed, and they did nothing, saying that I'd have to figure out a solution on my own. The window could never be open and I was forced to keep it shut with duct tape. The girls in my dorm were incredibly catty and the boys were loud and obnoxious. The RA's did nothing to try and stop the noise they made that continued all night, or at least until 3 AM even on weekdays. I then requested a room change with the Housing department, and they told me that they could not help me and that I would have to deal with it for the rest of the year. I transferred after a semester, as it became unbearable. I would never recommend SUNY Oswego to anyone.
