I
received an outstanding Engineering education in a Christian environment at
LeTourneau University. The academics were rigorous and the intentional
integration of faith with school and work was life-changing.
Classes were tough, but class sizes were small and professors
were much more available than my friends reported at larger
universities. Because it is not a typical party school,
entertainment and social activities were creative, unique, and usually wholesome.
Dorms and societies (Christian fraternities)took on their own unique
personalities, and the intramural sport system was excellent. Chapel
services were what you made of them - I learned
from and appreciated most of them. There were people
from all different backgrounds, cultures and theological positions and they
blended well and accepted each other (I even knew one
open-minded atheist). The only students I knew that did
not appreciate the environment were ones opposed to Christianity (usually
sent by parents). I believe that LeTourneau did a
great job of preparing me for a career and several
job offers from leading companies attest to its reputation.
More importantly, LeTourneau helped me learn how to live out
my faith personally and professionally, and helped me transition from
being a child of man to a child of God.
I would highly recommend LeTourneau to anyone seeking a
Christ-centered education, and I hope at least one of my
children attends there.
