Major: Music - Performance (This Major's Salary over time)
Where do I start… probably one of the biggest wastes of time and money (and a lot of it) going to school here. Just saying. On one hand, I made valuable connections, in the sense that if I hadn't come to school here, I never would have moved to this city and made the connections that have led me to my current successes (which are completely unrelated to my involvement with the school). On the other many hands, what a bunch of baloney, my god. The standard of excellence (if you could call it such a thing) across the board in all departments, IMHO, is so blatantly askew, I feel that I have not only become less intelligent (dare I say stupider?), but also disconnected from reality.Don't waste your time, the students are way too cool for you. You probably won't understand the work they are doing, it's so super obscure and avant-garde. They aren't bound by the confines of society's constructs and wouldn't dare do anything that more than ten people would appreciate or understand. Anything, and I mean ANYTHING can and will pass as art/music/dance here.Students here are so sheltered by academia that it is the only place their work could ever flourish. A professional in my field, I feel that I have to go back and re-learn my trade, as well as how to be successful in the real world, where there IS a standard of excellence. What a nightmare.BEWARE.
