OK, so let?s start with the students. At Fisher if you're not an upstate NY person you're considered an alien! If you don't already have friends from High School going with you, good luck finding new friends!! It's a glorified High School!!I'm from New York City and that made it even worse! People either liked me or hated me JUST BECAUSE I WAS from NYC! I had horrible roommate experiences ranging from smoking in our non-smoking rooms to stop talking to me in the middle of the semester because I was friend with people ! If you're a minority, please, please, please don't go here!! The few friends I did make were either also minorities or just really nice people and yes they had really nice folks, usually upperclassmen… I guess the pettiness was over by the time you're a junior? This ruined my college experience. The weather is pretty miserable up there and so were most of the students. (Again, except for a few…) I made some friends up there that I still talk to and they are lifelong friends but I would never encourage anyone to go to Fisher! The academic advisor was a sweetheart and the teachers were really good, for the most part. This however, was not enough to offset the racism, sexism and classism I encountered at SJFC. I transferred after 3 miserable semester! Good riddance!
