This comment is about the Nursing Department at BCC. Never in my life have I ever come across a more autocratic, poorly organized, incompetent group of people than the faculty and staff of the BCC nursing department. Many of the professors are extremely demanding of the students but do not keep to the standards they set, the entire program needs to be overhauled and restaffed with younger professors who treat students like people. Many students are afraid to bring up any questions or injustices because they are afraid they will be thrown out of the program because it often happens that certain professors will make "mistakes" in correcting exams and will not fix them unless you go look at the exam in their offices (they don't give your exams back to you because they reuse them over and over). Courses are designed to fail everyone who is ESL and there is rampant cheating despite the emphasis placed on "integrity". Professors love to talk about critical thinking but they have no idea what it is. They will not be understanding or work with you like a fellow human being. They love being the dictators of their own little fifedom, they love jerking around their students. I have a BA and a MS and have spent numerous years in academia, never getting less than an A- in any college course throughout my entire career and have never been treated this poorly by such an incompetent group of people. DO NOT MAJOR IN NURSING AT BCC! They will take your money, jerk you around, make your life miserable and if you complain, they will fail you.
