This comment applies to only nursing department. I have no idea about the rest of schools.

I got in the nursing school in summer 2011. We were about 95 students, but 45 of them failed and withdraw from the course. Some students were 4.0 students the one who failed in summer time. The students were very smart, but they couldn't make it because of pathophysiology professor. She doesn?t know how to teach the course at all.
They pushed us to take pathophsiology and health assessment at the same time on summer in 4 weeks session. It was not our choice to take that class in short period of time. It was not even accelerated program. The teacher who thought pathophysiology was heartless. The school of nursing doesn't even intervene when lots of people failed that class. Lots of students complain but nobody give them an answer. Surprisingly, in this year, the same professor will teach that course. Isn?t it weird?

When we took maternity, I had one professor who made our life miserable. This professor likes to yell and insult student which made me like to run away from that school. It was very stressful moment for me to pass all these hard time.

You know, I Just need education but not hatred, stress, and misery.

60% of professors are arrogant, mean, lazy, and heartless. They don't know how to teach…They just read everything from the power point. I swear..I am not lying to you. I am very disappointed of this school:-(:-(:-(
I don't believe that this school prepares me for NECLEX…If I could do it all over again, I rather go to different school :-(:-(
The reasons that I am writing this because I just want to warn everybody who wants to go to Howard University School of Nursing.
When you go to different places (administration office) some people look at you like why you here, I hate to see you here. Don?t expect good manner from these people. If you have any problem correlated to administration office, they will make you cry like you have never been cry before.

Throughout one year experience I only like couple of professors?A few of them are in my mind which I will never forget them the rest of my life.

Most of my experience is not good at Howard?If write everything, I can write a book.
Warning!!!!! Don?t go to this school!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea u you are correct with most of your point…nobody cares about you in nursing school..they just need your money..I agree with the arogant professors also…I am counting my day also

You are so right! I'm in nursing school at Howard and I wish I wasn't there! I paid $5,000 out of my pocket because if you are a transfer student, guess what…? Financial aid doesn't cover summer classes. SRF:ELEMENTS:0xsrfThe summer pathophysiology prof is horrible. The first professor I cannot even understand because of her accent and the other professor does NOT care for students. Once they collect your $$ you are to them. They wait to give you back your first exam results after the last day to receive 25 percent back if you decide to withdraw. There are many smart students in class but, this school is a trap to take your money. Do not go there!!! I am withdrawing myself… I wasted so much money and sleepless nights. So disappointing.

I concur with this review.This Nursing program will set you up for failure. You are given Pathophysiology and Health Assessment in what they say is 5 weeks which is really 4 weeks because the last week are final exams which by the way you have back to back. Each exam consists of material for at the very least 7 chapters, sometimes its 12 chapters.Health Assessment is not too bad but with all the attention you have to give Pathophysiology you might just fail Health Assessment.The content in Pathopysiology is no joke, it is very detailed and the ice cold teacher(I'm not even sure if she is human) expects you to know all of it. You will be given no guidance as to what to study for the exams, you will simply be told everything I cover in class which I menioned before can be anywhere from 7 to 12 chapters. Did I mention the professor is cold,uncaring, not genuine, dismissive? Nobody cares that you might have spent your life savings to attend this school…seeing that you have to pay out of pocket for the summer semester… If you are failing, dont even try to go to the Professor because she does not care. Certain people should not be professors and the Pathophysiology teacher at Howard University is one of them. Teachers are supposed to try every angle and every strategy to help students learn and succeed.This one WILL NOT. Shame on Howard University for offering these courses over 4 weeks, these courses are supposed to be the foundation of Nursing and with such a shaky, hurried foundation do you really think great Nurses will be born? Also, do not expect to get any sleep because you will have to study constantly and even with studying constantly you probably will still fail.If you are passionate like I am about a career in Nursing, look elsewhere because this program will shatter your self confidence and make you feel like a failure.I would not reccommend this program to anyone and I am one of the students that are passing. My heart goes out to all of the students who had to drop out.
