Major: Kinesiology (This Major's Salary over time)
While it is true that Uoft is a very well distinguished university, with one of Canada's oldest and most established physical education and kinesiology programs, if you are at all interested in doing a masters degree or post-grad degree DO NOT COME HERE! For one thing, class averages are so strictly controlled that if your entire class does well on one exam/assignment, your marks will be bell-curved down. That's right, you read that correctly.. if the prof is phenomenal, and the course work sufficiently challenging enough to make students study hard, and ppl do well, uoft steps in and changes that, lowers everyone's average. More than half of my graduating class has to take a 5th year at a less established uni like York, Brock or Laurentien in order to up their averages to get into masters programs in related subjects like physiotherapy, athletic therapy, occupational therapy, human kinetics, exercise science etc. Most of these ppl having to take a 5th year else where graduated with honours.. it is impossible to do well even if you study your ass off and have no social life. I 100% advise that you take your 25-50 thousand dollars and spend it at any university OTHER than uoft. Your GPA, social life, stress levels, and future career will thank you for it! TLDR: don't go to uoft for an undergrad, they make it literally impossible to do well and get into post-grad programs, so unless u just get the undergrad degree and a job appears out of thin air paying above min. wage, don't bother with an undergrad at uoft. Waste. Of. Time. they just hope that you spend your 5th year at uoft to try and get more money from you. It's run like a business/factory, not a place of learning… Despite the cheery 'you-can-do-it' atmosphere created by other students in the faculty.
