Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I am an out of state student from the New England area and even though coming to a different state felt scary, it still felt like home here. UMO is a great college. Personally, I would never want to go back to my home state because I loved it here.

Not all colleges are perfect, so don't be thinking with huge amounts of expectations with every college you look at. I can understand though since college is so expensive. UMO is very expensive for an out of stater. I know I am very worried about my future loans and the expenses I have to make. I sort of wished I checked out more colleges in my home state so I could have the opportunity to save money. So if you are looking here out of state, please consider your home state schools first, especially if it has your major. Despite the expenses here at UMO, it is still an amazing school and I never want to think about transferring.

Bio majors, listen up. If you can survive BIO 100 and 200 for your first year, you are pretty much set to go. Both are very challenging classes, I spent a crazy amount of my day studying for those classes and it is not an easy grade type of class. Other than that, the Bio department is very nice and they're pretty laid back. There's different Biology type clubs to join if you like to extend more knowledge.

There are parties all the time, but its very rare that the partying atmosphere will annoy you. Most of the time people leave the dorms to go somewhere else to party (safer that way anyways) so if you don't want to deal with the "noise", it probably wont happen often. If you love to party, you'll have fun at the frats and get togethers at OT.

Overall advice: think about your money before applying and study well. Have fun!
