This school is good, as long as: you never complain about anything, you aren't interested in having challenging courses, you don't want to get good food, you want to meet unfriendly people.

I got my opinion from various experiences. The staff is nice, as long as you do not complain about anything. But if you do, for example about how your room mates treat you, you are ignored until you make various phone calls, and then they will do anything to make your life miserable.

One of my friends there complained about something, and she ended up losing mail that was delivered to her PO box on campus that contained money… Also, the school tried to ignore any of her requests and questions.

The courses are plain boring. I was in a course marked as very challenging, I slept most of the time, and did not have a single wrong answer on tests. They also are like high school when it comes to homework. They grade all of the homework, and they even count attendance. You feel as if you were still in high school. And if you do attend, don't buy the text books, you don't need them anyways…

For the food: at first, you might think the canteen is brilliant. That lasts about 5 weeks. Then you realize that you get the same food over and over again. And it doesn't taste all that great either… If you are allergic to anything, be very careful! They do not post most of the ingredients, at most nuts and perhaps fish. If you are allergic to anything else, good luck in not dying. Also, the manager does not react to requests to change this matter…

As for the people. Some professors are nice, but some aren't. This school has ten-yeared professors that will not be fired. Those sometimes will treat terribly and you can't do anything. Also, the school has no idea what harassment or bullying is. There was a complaint about harassment, it was settled by telling the harassing person that this behavior was not okay. Like in kindergarten…

The students like to party. Now this is a Tech school. They should not party… anyways, if your room mates get home drunk a lot, don't call security, they won't do anything, they do not even check the IDs of people in the room. If you suspect drugs, call the cops, since security won't do anything, and your RA will be told by the director of housing to throw them away…

I also want to say that there is a lot of transferring going on. All the good students begin to leave since the school is turning into a college that wants money, not students, and that does not care about your education.

I would absolutely not suggest you go to Florida Tech, it is the most terrible school I have seen in my life.
