Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
BCHS has several problems. Its small size does not allow students to change majors without withdrawing and reapplying. Additionally it has very few majors. If you fail twice you are automatic disenrolled from the school (that is two failures throughout the entire time you are in school ex. If you fail health assement, pass the second time you take it and later fail Adult Health 2 you are no longer in school ), and the school does whatever it can to prevent you from entering a similar program at other colleges. The school does not advocate for its students. Teachers are heard stating that they intentionally made a test to fail students. When this is brought to the attention of facility the administration will do an internal review and always side with instructors. Instructors will have in access of 10 grievances filed against them in one term and the instructor retains their position. The school has recently restructured there program and did not organize it well. As a result so many students failed they had to reopen a new section to place all the students who have failed. Most instructors will tell you to call them at home if you have problems. Unfortunately, they are over shadowed by instructors that get angry if you ask questions and seek help. The school is owned by a hospital but it has problem stocking equipment in the skills lab. The library is closes at 6pm 3 days a week and closes periodically for school events. When this happens students do not have access to computers or printers. The main campus building closes for non residents at 10:30 pm the only building student have access to after this time is the annex; which is not equipped with computers or a printer needed for paper work. Student recreation is almost unheard of. There were more opportunities for trips and events when I attended a community college. In short this is a small school with limited resources. There are several quality instructors however since they will not police the poor instructors the school has a poor graduation rate, approximately 70% of students who start a BCHS do not graduate. If you choose to go here realize you may only leave here with student loans.
