Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
When I started at NOVA's Tampa campus (1 story bldg), majority of the staff was always friendly & willing to help @ all times. Even when I called customer service I was helped w/o too many issues. When they moved to the larger bldg on the next block, a lot of the direct attention changed. It is hard to get the time for advisors to see you directly & most contact is done via email. Customer service is low lacking, making it hard for ppl to get the same answer from 2 different ppl. When NOVA makes an error, such as financial aid, deadlines, etc., students are just expected to accept it and move on. If a student makes a mistake, NOVA does not hesitate to penalize the student. The biggest issue I have now is they always want you to register for classes early. As soon as the start date approaches, you may receive an email stating the course was cancelled due to low enrollment, which includes the same time I am typing this comment. I don't know why this is an issue since I've taken classes where I've been 1 of the only 2 students in the class. This has happened to me numerous times, & a few times I've been notified on THE START DATE! If I decided to drop a class when it started, I would not get reimbursed 100%, so why should this be acceptable. When I complain to my counselor about this, his response is always he doesn't control this and hopes the same doesn't happen to the new class I choose. Basically, he can copy & paste all his responses to me, but I am glad he does notify me ahead of time now. Most professors are helpful, but some are arrogant and belittling, usually the ones that insist you refer to them as Dr. There are a handful of professors though that honestly look out for the students.
