Ever since I was a high school freshman I dreamed of going here. I got into the AIM program and then got an LOA which guaranteed me a spot at the academy. First the good: 1. The school work will challenge you. The swab summer will push you farther than you thought was possible. You will meet the best students and faculty in the nation. They will inspire you to be a better person. Your shipmates will be your second family. You will graduate debt free and an excellent and fulfilling job in the best coast guard in the world. Now the bad 2. I transferred from the academy because it really wasn't for me. I love and admire the service and academy. It just wasn't for me. First, swab summer will be pure hell. The worst ever. Days wi feel like years.
