Many people know that Drexel is a good school, but they failed to realize that not all the majors are great here. The way I see it, they focus mainly on engineering and business, but in terms of media arts and design, which is what I am majoring in now, I feel like it is added just to attract more sheeps to give them money.

I am a Digital Media's Animation and Visual Effect major, and overall, if you want to study Media Arts and Design courses in general, dont come to Drexel. Think about it, design jobs ONLY look at your portfolio or demo reel, so employers dont even care if you even have a degree if your portfolio is good. So you would think what do I pay the 43K dollars (6K if you live on campus and other fees) an year for a degree when they dont even look at ? On top of that, the quality of teaching is terrible. I have meet some really nice student teachers (yes, 43k a year, and they hire student teacher rather than industry professionals) but they teach at classes that dont even concern your aim of your major.

The professor who teach 3D modeling isnt even helpful. I spend more time Googling my solution more than asking him, not that I didnt ask him but he doesnt reply. I think I would be better off, paying like 80 bucks for a book or go online, to learn 3D modeling than this.

If you really want to major in design, go to somewhere else. Like UArts, or Temple's Tyler School of Art. Remember, Drexel is good ONLY for its engineering, NOT Media Arts and Design, so you guys can stop being blinded by its "name brand."
