Going to FIT was one of the bigger mistakes of my life. The cost is very high even with scholarships, and the social life is absolutely lacking. The male to female ratio is absurd, and the few girls that go to the campus are bombarded with attention. Not really any school spirit to speak of, and a quite a few of your fellow freshmen will transfer after the first year (some after the first semester). The courses were good, but college should be about finding a nice balance of studying and socializing. The surrounding area is a bust socially speaking; however, the coast is beautiful. All I can say is I'm so glad I chose to transfer out of there after my first year. My university experience has been much, much better at my state school.
