Before I get started I'd like to say that I found the previous two comments very troubling. Judging by the amount of typos and strange syntax, the review that used Davidson's proximity to a nuclear power plant as a serious detractor to the institution seems unlikely written by an actual Davidson student. Also, I have never encountered a student at Davidson who voiced concerns over an imminent nuclear meltdown…that would be absurd. In regards to the last comment, I understand why the reviewer is concerned, but the problem with grade deflation at Davidson is not nearly as severe or important as they make it out to be. Davidson's professors are consistently ranked as the top in the country for friendliness, accessibility, and overall intellectual quality. They are a brilliant group of people who are constantly concerned with your academic performance, and are always willing to help you if you are struggling. If prestige and maintaining a 4.0 are absolutely important to you, then you probably should find another school to attend besides Davidson. Otherwise, the lessons you learn here will make all the difference, and it's important to remember that many alumni go on to become the top in their field, regardless of their less-than-perfect GPA's.Finally, I'll say this: Davidson is a charming enclave of friendly, dedicated students and faculty. I find the social climate is relaxed when it needs to be, but fun and crazy when the time calls. Just take a walk around campus and you'll see that this is truly a great place to be.
