I am a chemistry major and physics minor. I am so happy that I chose to attend this school. So many opportunities were open to me and I took advantage of each one. I am so grateful to this one physics professor I have. When he met me as a freshman and saw hoe interested I was in physics, he invited me to join him in his research. 2 years later I am still working with him and I am even getting paid to do it. I brought that up to show how amazing the faculty is in the physical sciences department. They are all so amazing. The way that they are always willing to help and how much they actually care. There also definitely know what they are doing, they are all experts. That physics professor I mentioned, he was a physicist at Los Alamos, which is a pretty big deal. I can't speak for any other department, obviously, but this one is a godsend.

Other opportunities that I have taken advantage of is getting involved on campus. Barry has a ton of ways to get involved. The Student Organization Council takes campus organizations seriously and tries very hard to insure great quality in each group. I have been involved in many, as well as worked my way up to a few executive board positions. I actually even created my own organization.

Yes Barry is a small school and because of that, there is not events every single night. But that doesn't mean that there isnt a lot of events. They practically turn the gymnasium into a club at the beginning of each semester. The school puts on pool parties, karaoke nights, game nights, laser tag, south beach trips, and headphone DJ parties. Theres a haunted house during Halloween. Theres community fest and Buc Fest which involves a party the night before and then an entire day filled with food trucks, inflatable obstacles, games, and music. We even have the festival of nations, Barry is one of the most diverse schools in America. Theres also movie nights and not even stupid movies, the last time they had it, we watched the Avengers. There is a lot more that I havent even mentioned. Obviously there wont be something going on every single night like at a bigger school, but at least they definitely care about making sure their students have the opportunity to have fun.

Another thing that I find amazing about Barry is something that not a lot of people pay attention to or care about. It has to do with their core commitments. Barry's mission is not only to educate people, but hopefully instill in them the desire to do more in the world. I have noticed a lot of things about Barry that shows me that they want us to care more about the injustices in the world and to use the education that we receive to help make a difference. This is mainly through professors and various events. What you should get from this is that I've got the impression that Barry actually cares about people.

I definitely do not regret attending this school. I feel that I am earning my degree, not just getting one.
