There is one thing I can say nicely about Ivy Tech: I may have never had a college education had it not been for community college—you have to start somewhere. Now that I have an AA under my belt, I can move on to bigger and (MUCH) better schools.

Otherwise, the school is a joke. They won't care about you, only the money you'll provide. I've gotten yelled at in the financial aid department twice due to not having a job (which I was laid off from, otherwise I'd still be working, thank you). The advisors are not helpful at all and most likely, you'll end up taking courses you do not need. If I were you, I would just skip going to an advisor and ask a student in your major that has already been taking classes to help you out.

The layout of the course requirements make no sense—and you may end up having to take just one or two classes at the end because of certain pre-reqs. The major you've chosen may not even be available to you at your local branch—you may end up having to commute.

There are no activities really. It's hard to meet people to be friends with outside of class and you'll see a lot of students in the first couple of weeks of classes and then hardly see any of them at all after the loan money has been disbursed.

Just don't go here.
