Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Veterans stay away! This place is not veteran friendly. They will tell you anything to get you in this school so they can suck your GI Bill dry! When I first began at this school they told me they had the yellow ribbon program which will cover the costs that my GI Bill does not, so I enrolled. A few months later they made some cuts to the yellow ribbon program so now veterans will have to pay thousands out of pocket. These cuts were made in the spring of 2011. The school did not find it necessary to notify the veterans of the changes until the fall of 2011, thus allowing the veterans to become further invested in their degrees by 3 quarters (equal to 3 semesters) before telling us we would have to pay thousands before we can finish. I filed a formal appeal with the president of financial aid requesting that I be grandfathered through the program because the school had assured me the yellow ribbon program would cover all the cost my GI Bill would not. My appeal was quickly denied. I could have taken my GI Bill to any other local college and had zero problems affording college. Shame on New England Tech for exploiting war veterans benefits for there own financial gain.Prospective non veteran students watch out also! This school only wants your money and does not care what you think. The education is not worth the cost at all. The tuition you pay clearly does not go in to your education, it goes into all those horrible New England Tech commercials you see on TV. I have received my degree from this school and now have to start over at URI in the same field because my degree from New England Tech is almost useless. It is good for finding a job at a couple of companies that recruit from New England Tech and that is it. I have applied for jobs outside of this region and I find myself having to explain to people that New England Tech is not one of those trade schools like UTI or Wyotech and since my degree is in engineering it really doesn't carry much weight.
