Chaminade… Good old Chaminade.I'd like to start this rant on reslife. I have never been fined so many times in my life. If you do anything wrong, you will be fined. They constantly are threatening you with petty fines that add up quickly. Never get caught smoking or drinking in the dorms or you will more than likely get kicked out. Two drinking violations is all it takes to get kicked out the school and sent home. The lady in charge of Reslife lives in the dorms (yeah she's like 40 too), yet she is nearly impossible to schedule a meeting with. If you for some reason choose to come to this school, DO NOT live in the dorms. Don't do it.I came to Chaminade knowing it was not a party school. With that said, there were many many weekend nights when absolutely nothing was going on. The 18+ clubs are terrible, just terrible. Parties are nonexistent. The only thing there is to do is drink on the beach and that gets old fast. Horrible is the only word that can describe the professors. Many of my professors were not qualified enough to be teaching me. Honestly I felt like I was smarter than all of the people teaching me (and I don't even consider myself that smart). With bad professors, came easy classes. I would spend hardly any time on homework and transferred with all A's. For any out of state student only wanting to come to Chaminade because of the fact it is in Hawaii, should seriously reconsider schools. Chaminade has no reputation and is not even known by people in Hawaii. I am from Ohio and I chose to go to Chaminade because of the perfect location. I regretted it shortly after classes started. Hawaii is amazing, but Chaminade sucks. Nearly every out of state student in my class is transferring to a school back in their home state because of the poor academics. Before I chose to come to Chaminade, I read all the negative comments on this site, but sadly I found out everything negative was true. Trust me, you will be happier getting an education from somewhere on the mainland. Do not come to this school if you are an out of state student. I transferred and I am much much much happier.
