When I first came to visit Juniata, I thought that it was a beautiful campus, friendly professors, small class sizes, and I felt very comfortable walking around the campus. I was nervous because I knew that it was in Central PA and I come from a larger area so I was worried about the diversity of the student body mostly and the social atmosphere. However, the students here strive to be open minded and they want to learn about different topics. I think Juniata offers many opportunities to experience different cultures and it has been improving slowly in the last couple of years. After being here for three years, I can say that Juniata is a great school if you are looking for a small, close-knit feel. My problem with Juniata is the location of the school which at first is nice but the weather can switch up at times and the surrounding town of Huntingdon, PA is not that exciting especially if you are from a big city/looking a big city social scene. I know of two local bars that students go to but besides that there are really no club venues in Huntingdon. I love my professors which is one of the main reasons why I stayed here. They are very accessible and are willing to help with anything! Juniata's faculty and staff really cares about students and I love the school for that. My classes are good, some I love more than others but I have no big issues with how they are taught. My biggest suggestion for anyone looking to attend Juniata is try to come in with an open mind. Students at Juniata are an eclectic bunch where you will have the modern day hippie to the hipster to the prep walking around campus. If you can handle seeing people walking around without shoes and playing Quidditch on the quad, then you will be fine. I love the friends that I have made here and if I had the option I would research more school but I would chose Juniata again. Get involved in at least one club while at Juniata! It will definitely help so you can feel that there is something to do. There are a ton of clubs here and you can always start one if it does not exist here.
