Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
As a transfer student I was promised a discount for finishing a degree at QCC. Apparently, my original major (Communications Disorders) was not apart of this discount. Now, that I am a Psychology major, which does apply, I am not able to receive that discount on account that I have been here for 2 semesters already. This is bogus. Also, what I transfered, they put me in as a freshman, which messed up my whole first semester. As I was taking a math class, and I was not doing so hot. I went to the registrars office to see what my options were. As they were pushing that my only option was selecting pass/fail I asked many questions. One of them was, would this affect me GPA, their reply no. (I have financial aid, so I can't afford having a low GPA). When I filled out the paper work for that, I asked the question again. At that time I was, confidently, reassured that it would not harm anything. This is a lie. The financial aid office is of no help at all. They always have an attitude to them. You can ask as many questions you want, but all they ever do is beat around the bush. Due to the mishap with the pass/fail and another low grade they tried to yank my financial aid - with no warning. In response to that I sent an email to the President of the school who ended up forwarding my email to 7 other people. 4 out of the 7 responded with "I'm sorry, I don't know how you got in contact with me, but I would have nothing to do with this". Out of this my story was heard, but no actions were enforced to take place. Now, my advisor on the other hand was extremely hard to get in touch with at all times. The average of him emailing me back was 2 to 3 weeks, after I sent him an email. After my rocky first semester I was told by my advisor "that maybe this isn't my field and I should consider switching majors." What the heck! As I switched majors I was reassigned a advisor, this advisor took 2 weeks and 2 emails to get back to me. All in all this school is extremely disorganized, no one every takes responsibility and almost all the faculty has crappy attitudes.
